Day of Your Spartan Health Surgicenter Visit

Arrival - Please arrive at the Spartan Health Surgicenter at your scheduled time as provided by the Anesthesia Department. This will allow us adequate time to prepare and start your procedure on time. If you have any problems with your scheduled arrival time or you need special arrangements, please call the Spartan Health Surgicenter as soon as possible.

Post-Anesthesia Recovery - If you receive any type of anesthesia, you will awaken in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. You will remain there until a member of the anesthesia staff approves your discharge.

Transportation Home - lease have a responsible adult escort you to and from the Spartan Health Surgicenter. You should not plan to drive or operate any equipment on the day of your procedure. Even if you receive a local anesthetic, we strongly encourage you to have an adult accompany you home. Your escort should plan on waiting for you during your stay.

Children - A parent or legal guardian must accompany all patients under the age of 18 and must remain at the Spartan Health Surgicenter while the patient is in the operating room. We encourage two adults to accompany young chilĀdren. Clearance by your child's pediatrician may be required prior to surgery.

Post-Operative Instructions - You and your companion will receive post-operative instructions prior to your discharge from the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. You will be contacted by a member of the Spartan Health Surgicenter staff within 48 hours following your visit to evaluate your recovery and to answer any questions you may have.
